Supra making a comeback...

I'm sure some of you guys have heard of, or even seen the concept HS that Toyota is trying to develop. If not, basically it looks like a Celica with some late-model Supra ques and an outrageous futuristic interior design. It is, however, just a concept.

A friend of mine who works for Toyota actually told me some inside info about some of the ideas Toyota is trying to make a reality. One of them is the hybrid Tundra, which is no real secret, any car enthusiast will know about that. But what they probably *haven't* heard is that the engine that is being designed for it will most likely be coming from the new Supra. From my source, it is hopefully going to be in the 360hp+ range. The HS concept is spec'ed at a mid $30k range base price, all the way up to around $50k, depending on options...most likely this is the range for the Supra. The lowest base price model is rumored to be a regular gasoline engine, while the higher prices go, the more you get into hybrid territory, and obviously creature comforts as well.

Take this for what you will, I'm just letting you guys know about this. I know I personally would love to see a new Supra tearin' up the streets, especially a 360hp hybrid version.

I'm going to close this now before it becomes another flame fest. As a supra owner, I'll let you know we've heard all the rumours, and they've come up every 6 months or so for damn near 10 years. Toyota has publicly said the supra will not happen again any time soon. If you come with a new supra story, please also attach the actual Toyota documentation. It's sad that they will not release another sports car for a while, but the best we can hope for is a sport lexus perhaps, but no supra.

for further information, please review the sticky. This covers almost everything rumoured up to the LFA/HS concept...
