3rd Generation Turbo Timer

I'm new to the turbo world. Can anyone in laimens terms explain the purpose and how hard is it to install a turbo timer myself. Thanks for your inputs. What Kind is good? Should it have bells and whistles? 1990 Supra turbo Automatic Tranny

Any good Turbo Timer should have a harness that you can just unplug, and plug it in. I would avoid anything you need to wire in yourself. Features are overrated. You'll not use them many times. It's purpose is to 'turbo time' the car. Don't waste time/money at glitz.

The idea is just to let the motor idle for a bit to let the turbo cool for a bit before shutting the engine off. That way the oil doesn't get cooked inside the turbo and gum up the bearings. I just have an electric oil pump plumbed into the system. That way I don't have to run the engine to keep the oil circulating during cool down. Fewer theft concerns that way.
