3rd Generation San Francisco Bay Area......Help!

I just recently moved to the San Franciso Bay Area from Oklahoma. I own a 1987 Toyota Supra Non-Turbo. I recently had some major engine failure, and my problem is I have no idea where to get the car repaired that I can trust. I love my car more than my wife, and I have a real big problem with finding someone I can trust. I know it will need a complete head overhaul and maybe some bottom end work. If someone has some ideas or some suggestions I am all ears.

Buy a new motor. I hate to say it, but you can buy most any Mk3 N/A's for CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. The cost of a rebuild would me more than the cost of swapping to a decent turbo engine to boot.

You're getting ripped off if you pay $1200 (well, any money really) for an NA Motor.

That is all well and good. I have a motor lined up and the money, but I need to find a good respectable shop in the area that I can trust with my baby. Anything will help and I appreciate the replies.

body shop in oakland: seven eleven auto body, on the corner of 7th and 11th streets
tell them josh todd sent you.. take a picture of my truck if you have to, I've known the owner's son for years. They're usually expensive and back up, but well worth the wait.

Auto repair near lafayette? um, well I lived in Livermore for years. I can vouch for Machado's Auto Care on first street in livermore. I know the techs personally. They really turn out quality work, and genuinely care about the vehicles that come and go. Treat them like they are their own. But that's not all that close to lafayette.

Maybe ask Jason (the son of the owner) or Chris (the owner) at Seven Eleven who they send mechanical work to? I wish I could help more. I know plenty of shops in the east bay that are worthwhile, but not so much your area. Does this help?
