You can shift the power band around, but you won't make much more power. There are numerous regrinds, and if you're looking for rare you can occasionally find old HKS cams out there. AFAIK there aren't any "New" cams being made, just regrinds.

BC (brian crower) is now making new cams for these cars. i've heard of numerous issues with them, though. :/

Toda still makes cams from billet last I heard, but I haven't seen a set for quite a while. There is also another company here local to me that does them too but I can't remember the exact name. Ted Components comes to mind, but I might be wrong on that. I know someone with the cams, and they will build to spec, but as I remember hearing the documentation is useless for how to align them (come with no references...trial and error to get them set up). Webcams also does regrinds, and there is another shop local to me that gets regrinds to order for the 7M too...

After seeing an experiment with 2 almost identical 7M's on the dyno, with elevated boost, the cams do what they are supposed to. It was quickly discovered that the heads need a lot of port and polish work to get the most out of them (one was essentially a street port, one was opened up as far as possible by a premier builder who does/did work with IRL teams). The cams really shone above 4000 RPM, in the 400-600hp range at ~20psi boost. It was kind of neat to see. At more stockish levels (sub 450 hp, no head work), as Jeeves said, I'd not bother as that is where guys are only moving around power.

Well, it seems there's a lot more out there than the last time I looked. However, the gains seemed to have stayed about the same, relatively minimal.

yeah, i plan on making around 525rwhp when i'm done, and cams are at the bottom of the list, which means i'll likely pass on them.

^ i plan on pushing 450rwhp + out of a custom BB 60 trim ct-26. we'll see how that goes, though. haha.

if i can't make it, i have a greddy tubular exhaust manifold, HKS 50mm wastegate, and 3.5" downpipe sitting in my room, just waiting for a gt35r to be bolted on.

I got lucky and will be running cams. I'll have the mildly ported but cammed engine I described above in the near future. The twin turbo kit will support upward of 600, and the engine is built to sustain that, though I doubt I'll tune that high (I've only built fuel for low 500's and I'm not really into doing it all over again, nor the standalone I'd need to get there either for the moment...I would just like to get it running again...).

From what I've done and researched, money is better spent elsewhere on the 7M (headwork, bigger turbo, IC, etc), unless you're going for some very serious numbers.
