bell housings????

does the 7mgte share the same bellhousing with any other engines?
IE- 22R-E,3vz etc.

Basically i am looking into buying a 74 toyota pickup and my buddy has a built 7mgte he say i can put in it.

You might have better luck in the truck section...that said tcmaboy who stops in here frequently might also know. I do believe from what I remember reading that the 7M-GTE bell housing will mate to the R150 used in some of the trucks, and the 7M-GE bellhousing will mate to most W58 transmissions that may also have been used in various trucks over the years. I'm almost positive however that no other engine's bellhousing will mate to the 7M

I am not sure about a truck that old. I suppose it depends on what transmission it came with. When you work your way up a decade you have a W56 transmission in the trucks, and I believe the W58 bellhousing off of the 7MGE will work. If it is a 2wd truck I suppose the simple answer is use the trans that comes with the 7MGTE and build accordingly.

i dont plan on using the stock trans unless it will work but am expecting it to not to.
i can swap in a diff trans no prob.
