Stiff Accelerator pedel?

Hi just wondering if anyone has had trouble with their accelerator pedel being stiff. i dont know if this is just a common thing for the supra's or if i got somethin wrong with mine. but i have noticed since ive been drivin it that it is a lot stiffer than others that i have felt in my day. just wondering if anyone has any comments or any things i should look at? thanks

What are you comparing it to? It's a cable direct to linkage system... so it might feel stiffer than other vehicles.

well i guess i was comparing it to a straight cable to the throttle body, but my buddy has an 87 also but NA and his was a lot more easy on the pedal then mine is.

I really couldn't tell you from here. Try oiling the linkage mechanisms and inspecting the pieces. You can see the whole cable if you look in the right place. Start investigating.

yeah man i have this same problem. Trying to push the gas from a stop is ridicolous, but once it gets past that first cm or 2 it goes smoothly. My gas pedal is harder to push than my friends 91 camaro w/ a 350 in it. I thought his was stiff then i got my supra. What a difference that is.

It's really hard to compare vehicles, some use mechanical, some use cable only and very new vehicles use drive by wire. My suggestion still is to inspect the moving points, pivots and so on. Oil/lube where you can and be happy with the gains
