Tail lights

Well, my tail lights are starting to look like fish tanks so I figure I should replace them with something. Lately the fabrication bug has been biting, and I am tired of welding on the truck. I figure it should be easy enough to weld a panel into the tail light area on the MK III, but I can't seem to decide what would look good there. I do NOT want MKIV or Altezza or any other ricer anything in there. It would be easy to put a pair of round tail lights into the panel, but I don't want to have a cheezy Skyline feel to it. I have been looking at production cars from the 80s to kind of make it feel period correct, but I haven't seen anyting I like. I don't know, it is so hard to figure these things out.

I'm really not sure. For me, personally, I haven't seen to many mods to the taillights that I really liked.
