1991 Toyota Supra -- Simple mods for biggest gains?

I basically want to know a little bit more about the MKIII Supra's. I was checking out wikipedia and it stated that the MKIII responds very well to exhaust mods because it has a very restrictive exhaust. Want to know what mods the turbo MKIII responds to the most?

Whats the diameter of the stock exhaust? 2.25"?

Can you recommend simple mods that will add more power? Basically I know the standard seems to be 1. Intake, 2. Header, and 3. Exhaust (3" since it has turbo).

I know you can extract more power through the ECU as well, but I want to add bolt-ons first and see what happens.

Thanks

Just to let you know Turbo cars does not have headers, they have a manifold that the turbo attachs too. Anyway, simple mods for a MK3 Supra that will net you a good amount of HP are: Intake, 3" catback exhaust, 3" downpipe. Getting boost controller and cranking up that sucker will help also due remember that the fuel cut is at 12psi so you'll need a FCD. That's pretty much simple stuff.

FCD's are BAD news.

Intake, Exhaust, Boost.

In the exchaust idea, a replacement Turbo elbow is a great mod. The stock one is restrictive as hell, and the downpipe needs to be done in 3" as well.

There are no replacement headers because most everyone ditches the stock turbo to make real power.

Yeah, but his questions was for quick and simple HP mods, so I name them. As for will the engine last with it, prob NO due to the HG. Again just for his question, then those are the quick and simple HP mods for the 7M-GTE. I used to own a 1989 Supra Turbo and I know all to well about the BHG, but my was built and prep so I ran of upwards of 20psi.

I'm praying you didn't run 20psi on a CT-26.

No, it's a modify CT-26 TO4E 60 Trim. I know what I'm doing, been at this for more then 10 years now. When I mean built I mean the complete package, from the ground up including prep work, computer, injectors, etc.

yeah thats true you did say simplest route... but not the smartest when it comes to that dang gasket LOL

I did learn that our exhaust is really restrictive though. Already got my eye on a replacement

Lots of people on the internet make lots of claims. I've done the exact same. Don't get bent outta shape here. Was simply saying that for most people recommending an FCD and 20psi without stating some things is a bad idea.

i read somewhere that a 60 trim ct-26 can be pushed to the max of around 500hp. If you really dont feel like spending a lot of money, but want to replace the stock ct-26 with a rebuilt one go to driftmotion.com They have rebuilt CT-26's with 57 trim's for 625$.
