Did the non turbos with the sports package like the suspension come with LSD. I was going to change out my differential fluid and seen the LSD only. Is this possible?
be careful some oils already have an LSD additive! A lot of the syntec blends are "LSD compatible" already and adding an additive would conter-act the oil itself.
it should actually say in the description on the back of the bottle if its LSD friendly or not. I know full synthecs are usually LSD friendly, blends I dont know...
read the back just to be sure. if it doesnt have any LSD additive, then i'd recommend not driving until you do get the additive in your rear end. Your Supra's rear end. You know what I mean. Sick perv. LOL
burning out and counting the rubber strips is not a good way to determine whether or not you have an LSD..
LSD's can wear out just like any part. I know I have an LSD (because of the sticker, and the fact that lifting it up and turning one wheel will result in the other wheel turning in the SAME direction), but I leave only 1 strip of rubber if I burn out, so I stopped doing that, and am currently LSD hunting..

^^^^^^If the gears are still good look into a tru trak or some other beefy LSD replacement. I dont know what they are for the mk3, the mk2 is the "tru trak". Rebuild the diff you have and replace all the seals and bearings from the dealer and you'll have a beast of a diff.
There are almost no replacements for the MKIII diff that you'd want to use. There is the torsen from the JDM cars, but it's well known for not enjoying a lot of torque, tearing the gears up at fairly pedestrian 300-400 ft/lb levels. I guess Toyota even knew the 1j was torqueless . There is some OBX POS out there that does not fit either...I guess if you have the pockets or skills you could do a custom rear end...
That said, I'd just rebuild the existing LSD and be done with it. Fresh clutches and you're back to 2 wheeled artworks again.
What about the hylical LSD in a corolla RWD? Or is a clutch gear LSD called a hylical, the same thing I have now? and how much are rebuild kits and where can you get them?
