Half-Cut Junkyard Cars

If i found a 87-92 supra in the junkyard with a 5speed in it, but like a blown engine, and got a half cut and took the rear, would that come with everything i need for the auto to 5speed swap?

The only part im worried about is if i get the halfcut i might not get the piece that connects the manual trans to the engine, cause they'd probly just cut straight thru most of that shit. The fuckin bellhousing or whatever it is thats on the back of the engine.

Half cuts come front or rear usually. Front should include everything foreward of the front seats, including the engine and tranny, pedals, computers, harnesses etc. Back cuts have the drivers seat rearward by default, including the driveshaft (which you also need if I remember right), most of the interior differential etc.

So you think if i got a front half cut and grabbed the driveshaft too from the back cut, id be good to go possibly? Now the next thing is locating one at a junkyard.

You would have all the parts. How much that will cost you to get a half cut I don't know. Remember they will likely not pay you for the remaining cut after you are done. Most will take it off your hands, and not charge you for the tow, but not pay you anything either. Don't get onw with a working engine as you're looking at anywhere from 1000-1800 depending on the seller. You can assemble the parts far cheaper yourself.

I actually just ran into a 87 non turbo supra with a blown engine. Dude wants 850 for the whole car. What should i offer? Like 5-600?

lowball it a bit, but to me 850 isnt bad for all the parts you need. You can always salvage anything on the engine that might still be good too. Or just put your engine in it if the body is in good shape, etc.
