yeah you can run a turbo off the exhaust and a charger off your pulley but would be as practical as shoving foreign objects up your ass and doing the hoe-key-pokey in front of friends. Unless you like that stuff.

It can be a very potent setup capable of spectacular performance. That said, nobody has invested the monumental amount of cash it would require to engineer a good setup, nor does anyone have a running example that I'm aware of.

There are actually some phenomenal examples of "twin charging" out there. None that I know of in the Supra world, but yeah, it can make for a monster.

no one would worry about an excessive amount of boost pressure if both were working at the same time? I heard about some company I dont remember who that started designing a system that would have a super charger working at low rpms that would disenguage when the turbo started boosing. THIS would make sense, not supercharge then turbo ontop of that, I see epic fail.

Monumental is I agree subjective. On the wrecker parts and DIY I'd expect a workable solution to cost near 15k. An expertly engineered system with custom components to work as well as you could expect, I would again not be surprised to hear 50k. All about what you do, what you want, and what you expect. Theres guys making single turbo cars in the 25k range and that's a tried and true scenario...

VW is creating a twin-charged engine but like mentioned, they invested countless hours and LOTS and LOTS of money getting it right. It can be tricky! Superchargers run off belt so there is boost starting from the get go. Turbo's are exhaust driven. If you had both on an engine you'd have to create some sort of system to relieve some of the pressure or somehow, stop the supercharger from boosting once the turbo hits or else that'll be one hell of a boost spike.

I've never even heard of a s/c Supra either. Kinda... lame.

They provide a nice blend of low end and top end, but it takes a lot of work to match the two up. The blower bumps you up off idle, and the turbo takes over at the top end. I remember reading about an MR2 with a 3.0 V6 transplant that was twin charged a few years back. There used to be an HKS set up.

If you are looking for a blend of low and top end I would go with a twin screw blower.
