selecting a head gasket question?

Hi just wondering if anyone can give me a hand in choosing a head gasket for my 87 7mgte. i just got the head rebuilt and when he surfaced the head he said he had to take bout 9 thousands off (.009") to correct for warpage. just wondering if anyone has any input on what thickness of metal head gasket i should use either to get back to stock compression ratio or slightly more compression? thanks

I'll answer here instead of the PM.

Alrighty really, it doesn't matter. The thickness of the HG will change so little to the overall compression ration, it's not worth the debate. You could step up to a 2mm, it doesn't really matter much. I'd personally be more concerned about the difference between full valve extension and the notched sections of the pistons. They took a little shit of a 1/4 mm outta your head, shouldn't be enough to become an interference engine, but honestly, I'm not certain.
