Canada engine issue and a general question.

CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS.

my car makes a funny noise reaching 4000 rpm... makes a whistling noise almost like a turbo but there is no turbo on it and its also a slightly different noise quite annoying. and when im reving high rpm sounds like my car hates it... dunno if its normal or not but it does concern me.

also tranny !!! is it normal to be running at 3100 rpm in 5th gear at about 110 km/h.... seems like a tight tranny :S

INPUT AND THOUGHTS OF:

A.) i want to lower the car get some wheels and get a front lip and side skirts. just don't know what ones. or procedures to lowering the car.. never done anything like that. what would be some good products to purchase to achieve this (wheels, suspension, front lips n side skirts etc.)

B.) not too keen on the body kits they have for this car but i wouldnt mind putting something on if i dont do the first one "A.)"
these are the kits i found so far
http://www.customautotrim.com/bodyki...2-1992/103429/
http://www.customautotrim.com/bodyki...2-1992/100737/
http://www.customautotrim.com/bodyki...2-1992/100740/

i sorta like the C1 makes it look newer aged... but i do not like the rear bumper

ALL OPINIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. AND I LIKE THE ORIGINAL LOOK OF THE CAR. I WANNA MAKE IT LOOK MORE AGRESSIVE. AFTER THESE MODIFICATIONS I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE ONTO ENGINE. CONVERTING TO TURBO... LOOKS LIKE ALOT TO DO ON THAT PART FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN READING.

Record video + Audio clips of your car. I can't really help with a 'whistling' 'hating' sound.

3100rpm @ 80mph seems about right. That's not too tight, that's very average for a vehicle of this age.

Personally, don't body kit the car. Make power first. Besides the fact that body kitted, stock, slow cars bother people, do you really want to pull a motor over that brand new nose/hood you just bought? Nope.

whisting I would think could be an intake leak somewhere

and please, do not rice your supra! motor swap it, get a nice set of wheels, nice wide sports tires in the back, a suspension upgrade and a re-paint if it needs it.

Most of the time suspension upgrades are pretty straightfoward. But if I were you I would use the search on this site for write ups and how too's. Spring over shock, assembly dissasembly. If your getting coil-overs its even less work.

3100 rpm at 110 kmh. very normal. What tranny are you running? Actually what year is your car, what is the stock motor? Add details like this to your post, it helps people to give you better answers to your questions.
