87 Supra Turbo

Good evening, I am working on an 87 supra turbo with my son-in-law for my Step-Son who bought this car as a project car. It is in poor shape right now. We need the engine management wiring schematics which are the wiring colors, connectors and locations of all the sensors and such in the engine compartment relative to their connections with the ECM. Also, we need the vacuum line schematic. We got the car running today (it previously wouldn't start) and it is pulsing up and down and won't idle. We think it's either a vacuum line or the timing. We get a code 12 when we scan the ECM which has something to do with engine RPM not being received by the ECM. The wiring has been butchered by some morons prior to our current endeavors and we don't have anything to go on. Also, we have read something about the security system faltering and causing a no-start problem which we think has been happening intermittently. We now have good fuel (verified) and fixed wiring issues we could find. Any help appreciated.

Tom,
You've got a decent amount of work in front of you, wiring nightmares can quickly end a project for me. For a large part it sounds like you need to go to your local Toyota Dealer and pick up a TSRM (Toyota Service Repair Manual) for the Supra, complete with the TEWD (electrical) section.

It is FAR more handy than any digital copy I've ever seen, however, this may be of help too:

I don't know if that link is against the forum rules however, it may get pulled by BGrieger.

Unfortunately, it is not my rule. We must remove all public forum posts containing links to, or copies of Toyota manuals. We also discourage the transmission by email or private message, but no moderators have the ability to review them. Toyota themselves have made this request, and given that several automotive forums have been shut down by the manufacturer's lawyers in the past, we honour their request.
