What should the headgasket be torqued to? I heard its 74lbs from toyota after the fix, but most people do 84-85. Ive seen up to 100 though. I plan on running 15-18 lbs of boost after i get my injectors and afm here. (Little bit down the road few weeks) What do you guys suggest? I was just going to do 85 ft lbs. Its going to be on ARP Studs, not sure if im using a bead or stopper type gasket yet.
Also does anyone know where to get a full 3 gauge pillar for the drivers side thing. Im getting a autometer EGT gauge and a AEM wideband next week when i order my intake and mbc.
While Toyota found out what happens when you go too low, there is also too much for the bolts/studs. 70-75 is typically what I see done, and they hold fine. 80+ will overstretch the stock bolts from what I remember seeing when Reg Reimer had the bolts metallurgy tested years ago, and the ARP's, while they will probably fare better, are still the same thickness and will likely not take a whole lot more than the stockers will.
Cool cool ill do 85 lbs then. If your running 17.5lbs on 85ft lbs fine i should be good to go. Anyone know where to get a 3 gauge A Pillar for our supras? I dont want one that clips in i want a whole replacement, ill go with a clip in one if i have too. Jeeves where do you get your parts, you posted it on a diff thread and im pretty sure i found it on that site, i just forgot the name.
I don't know if there's a company right now that makes a whole replacement. You may be SOL in that desire. We do have cares that right now are nearly 17 years at their youngest.
Horsepowerfreaks.com is where I get a large majority of my parts. They've done me well.
Also keep in mind, strictly duping someone's build isn't everything. Prep, materials, quality, etc. Meticulousness comes into play everywhere.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
Yeah, i dont know anyone with a supra except you guys and im not copying anyone lol. The headgaskets just to make sure that itll hold at high boost, once the head gasket seals im going to run 10 lbs. Then get the Lexus AFM and RC 550 Injectors and up to 15 or so. Probably wont run more than 15, but i might go to 18.
You think if i got this one that it would replace the whole pillar by the look? http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/part...ds/Triple/1066
looks kinda like the lotec pod. They fit marginally well, replace the whole pillar, and the colors aren't that far off. They are however cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. At least they fit fairly well...
Im not worried about the color of it, i can always paint it myself (wich i probably will), but the fitment. Does it like wobble around or somethin you think or just like, too small or what? Fitment is the biggest thing i care about, i dont want my A-Pillar to fall on me while im drivin or something lol.
It wont fall, but it does not have the nice tight tolerances of the factory piece. I had a 2 gauge pod and it had a gap at the dash (hard to see, but a gap) and it was not quite as wide as the original a pillar trim so you could see the white painted metal of the pillar itself. I got rid of it as I went a different direction, but I could have lived with it if I decided to put gauges there.
Hmmmm, go with the Lotek, or the one from horsepower freaks. Im assuming the one from horsepower freaks is the Lotek though. Gonna look around a little more.
