Desperate Supra owner !

Hey i have a MKIV Supra Non Turbo and i after i did an oil change I couldn't get the hood to lock no matter what i've tried .
The piece of metal enters perfectly in the latch mechanism , lowers it but doesn't lock the hood pops back.

I tried to simulate closing it with a tool( on both latches), pushed the mechanism down as much as it can go but it popped back..
The release lever feels also feels a bit weaker than usual, tried pushing the metallic wire connected to the leaver into the cable and managed making the leaver stiffen and go into closed position and than tried to close the bonnet but with no success...

PLEASE if anyone can help in some way it would be much appreciated cause i'm getting a little desperate here

I'm not sure why it's continuing to pop, but it sounds like you may just need to replace the entire latch assembly.

Welcome to the boards as well Any pics of your Supra?

Check the release lever inside the car. It should have resistance to it when you pull, and should return to the closed position when you release it. If that's not the problem and the wire is still connected to the lever, check where the wire goes to under the hood. It's right between the two latches under the hood, the wire might have come loose there.
