An update on my car.

So i went to the shop that was doing my headgasket, (they got the head off yesterday), and i figured i would just post some pictures of how FUCKED UP my HG was.
F.Y.I. I was running on 4 cylinders with a boost leak...

Cylinder 1

Ouch yeah.
Then number 6. See all the coolant on top of the piston.

Ouch AGAIN!
Hate to say it but jeeves, if i woulda ran that compression test a few weeks ago probably wouldnt be so bad...

Yeah, well, its getting there. After i replace my headgasket, i have to do a lot of highway driving so how do you suggest i get up to speed, its quite hard not boosting it at all.

Actually, freeway driving isn't advisable. You need good, variable load driving.

Not sure what point you're trying to make here. Did you save money in not buying the test because your engine was already f'd? Yes. BHG's go over time, they don't just pop, and go in seconds. Leaks happen in seconds, the ones that fog city streets and look like someone popped a military smoke screen. Damage like that doesn't happen in seconds.

And yes, the photos are -amazingly- dark:

In comparison, I've got photos of an HG I drove around on for 4 months because I didn't have another car at one point, that had less damage.

Well thats a problem cause i have to do a lot of freeway driving for work... Hmm... Also i talked to the shop today, they heard from the machine shop. The HG was replaced at some point but they did it wrong. Never cleaned up the head etc. Now i need to buy new longer valves and shave the head down and stuff its ridicolous. Im pretty pissed, but i wan't it done fucking right.
