What is the widest tire you can fit on the stock rear rim? Well i think its the same size as the stock rear rim.

Some manufacturers have a 245/45/16 that will fit, but not everyone. 255/50/16 may also fit with the same qualifications. Pick the tires in your budget, then look at the tire's recommended rim size and the acceptable range. All tire makers have this info, and it tells you what rim the tires will safely fit. That said, they may or may not look like ass, but all will have some sidewall bulge. All depends on what you are willing to work with.

245's are about the widest I'd put on there. 255's won't get you much due to the buldge.

Nice. I was just curious. What about rim size? When will rims be too big for the front / rear? 17x8 17x8.5 17x9 etc. Pretty sure im gettin 17's, i want some rim there, but not so much its ridicolously heavy. And i could care less about how "Fresh" my car would look on lo-pros. My Z rated tires will do wonders compared to peoples shitty like HR types.

Really, the widest you'll get on the rear depends on the offset you have. But for instance the Mk4 TT wheel are the widest you'll get back there. 17" x 9.5", 50mm. I come -very- close to rubbing the strut perch with this comfiguration.
