Given you have an AFM code showing, I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes, it's possible.
Of course, I would have fixed the harness connector with something a little less Elmer Fudd than a shoestring so I could tell if it was my jacked up attempt to fix a wiring problem or the AFM itself...wait a minute...How can you spend the time and effort replacing a knock sensor and a fuel pressure regulator after noticing that "gee, when the shoelace is cut the car don't run so good" and somehow not come to the conclusion that you should start there???
