Want some info (noob post)

As my name states, I want a Supra. I'm looking into buying a turbocharged Supra, specifically a late 80's maybe early 90's model. I was wondering what the ups and downs are about these cars. What kind of problems do people encounter? I'm kinda lazy with the search function, sorry.

one thing you should know by now is BHG- bad head gasket, thats the most common problem that you come across, but ya, do the search for sure it will answer questions you might not think about asking

bhg is a big problem, but once fixed, properly, it can be avoided. i just sold my 1987 supra which had been run for almost 200,000kms with no bhg, running at 10psi, on a hks mhg stopper type torqued to 65lbs.

on the auto, i replaced the neutral safety switch. i only mention it because it cost me 300 to buy it, and another 200 to install it at toyota.

on the standards, the 2nd gear syncros almost always go.

valve seals start to leak oil into the combustion chamber after a few years, but as long as you don't mind a little smoke, it causes no harm.

those are the big issues i remember from owning my 1987 from 1988 until a few weeks ago.
