3rd Generation Bellhousing anybody?

So long story short Transmission shop F*ed alot of crap up on my car... one thing was dropping my bell housing and cracking it, and now they can't find one anywhere.. I've got the R154 standard 5-speed transmission for an 87 turbo, anybody got one sitting around they'd like to sell or know where i can find one?

thanks,
Jeff

Try finding one JDM. I'm sure you can get one from toyota, but your looking at about $800 or more. Jhot has alot of small parts like that.

Yeah, a new one straight from toyota. They generally tend to believe that there parts are gold, although I guess they pretty much are.

What toyota dealer would still stock an 87-MY bell housing?

Any of them, if the part is still supported. Given I can probably count on my fingers the number of parts they don't carry anymore, I'd say you have not a bad chance of finding one there.

Yeah, actually Kollosso Toyota in appleton, WI has pretty much everything I have needed or my friends have needed for their cars. They even have parts for alltracs, which are fairly rare. The parts do run expensive though. I am currently in need of some new camshafts and only want to go stock, but toyota wants $533.00 a peice for them. TopLine wants 140.00. I want toyota quality, but that price makes me wonder

I know of one part they dont stock!!! 7mgte shortblocks lol. I went into my local dealer the other day and found they had them at one time but it got discontinued. Its a shame because the guy was going to cut just over a grand off the price for me (dropped it to about $2500 )

Im sure they should have the bellhousings though. Toyota is awesome like that

sweet! yea they also don't carry rebuilt/remanufactured transmissions... shame.. it would have only cost me like $1500. but no! i had to drop $1400 on a trans shop who inturn break my stock drive shaft, on top of a list of other things... so $400 driveshaft and a $450 clutch is to be purchased... and now a bell housing...

whats cool is that shortblock they used to offer included brand new block, crank, main bearings/journals, rods and pistons

I'd be tempted to report that tranny shop to the BBB...

actually i just located a guy with one but if that deal goes sour i will let you know... im going on 7 weeks without my baby.... its killin me.... lol

and yes I WILL be reporting them to the BB. they didnt tell me my throw out bearing was worn which is why the clutch pressure plate warped, which in turn snapped the fork mounting point clean off the bell housing, broke the drive shaft carrier bearing which broke the rear seal they JUST replaced when i had them do the trans job the first time. THEY ALSO lost the clutch cover, broke my reverse light sensor, didnt bolt the output shaft speed sensor in, clipped my REM wire to my amplifier when they were installing that metal shield that covers the shifter cut out in the trans tunnel..... and a couple other things... they screwed my car up BIG time... ill be lucky if my diff. is ok when I get it back...
