has anyone swapped the 1jz vvt into a mk3?
ive got the money liend up and i leaning toward the the newer 1jz but i dont know how much different the wiring is, especially since i saw the electronic throttle control.
i need to get this together so i can get some money for college
I've never seen one myself that was done. Not that it can't be if you have the ECU, but that it adds a whole new complexity. Even with a standalone it adds a bunch of tuning time, hence cash to make it work right.
There's NO WAY I would personally shove a VVTi 1JZ into a car. People have enough of a bear tuning and dealing with the VVTi 2J's that I wouldn't want to deal with them in the rarity of the 2.5L 1J version.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
alright then, im gonna stick with the just the 1jz w/o vvt
but still i gotta ask, has anyone dealt with osaka jdm motors?
theyve got the whole setup engine, trans, ecu and harness for $800
True. 3 liters are nicer than a 2.5. But the 2.5 has more horsepower (well, not for you Jeeves LOL) than the 3 liter. Not to mention I already have the 2.5 Twin Turbo badge, see
I'm really debating on finding a 1jz now then if its cheaper. I'm afraid of getting a used 7m and having something go wrong, but am stretched and can't sink in the money to rebuild my 7m to make sure nothing happens. But if I could find a 1jz for that good of a price.... Get where i'm headed? haha. You want to sell that one Jeeves?
i wish i could even keep the car when i'm done with it.
well for the money im getting in college im sad to say but i'm thinking im going to need to ditch the swap since i dont have two to get every piece that i need.
i just need to get it running and sell it, so im stuck with getting the 7m-ge again and selling it soon as it fires up. it wont be to bad i guess, about 1200 for the car and a second engine.
if i ever get the chance to get another i hope ill have the money for it
