Anybody have a hks ssqv? what if i leave my stock bov in to eliminate any rich issues because of loss of cirulation? I don't know if that will interfere with the new bov or not
You can leave both, but you will still get the sudden rich condition. Any air lost from the intake track will cause it. The question is whether it will go rich enough to cause the common stalling, and that you would have to experiment with to find out.
that sucks though it kindof defeats the purpose of buying an aftermarket bov considering i don't intend to boos over 7-8 pounds. might as well leave the current one on
Only if you have no clue what the point of an aftermarket BOV is.
The point of an aftermarket BOV is to discharge higher than stock boost levels, safetly. Most stock diaphrams are not designed to go above higher than stock boost levels and often will not respond fast enough causing compressor surge which can destroy a turbocharger. A good aftermarket BOV will eliminate this. If you think the point is to vent to atmosphere or make cool noises, you've watched too many movies.
More than anything, it sounds like you bought a BOV for the wrong reasons.

Who came up with this 500px wide BS?
No, you completely misread me. As I stated, I don't really intend to boost past 7 or 8 pounds. Now, in all reality, I'm leaning more towards the 7 pound mark just to mix things up a bit, and in all actuality 7 pounds is not going to change the need for a different bov. Considering the stock boost for a 7mgte is 6.7 pounds, I stand to repeat the latter stated. As a matter of fact, I do like the sound of an aftermarket bov, and that was only reason I had planned on putting one on. Chances are, since the recirculation setup is so simple to install, if I so choose when I take a long trip or under some other circumstances, I would put it on for improved drivability. However, since I don't have insight into the future as to my need for an aftermarket bov, I have opted at the current to not get one. I know and understand what the purpose of buying an aftermarket bov is, but it is also nice to have fun with it when you are out on the streets.
I had a HKS SSQV on my car. Both with and without the stock recirc valve. It will dump and stall no matter what if its an automatic like mine, not sure about manuals though. What im just going to get is the TurboXS Racing Bypass Valve 25. Its a direct aftermarket replacement for the stock bov. Made by turboxs of course. Im runing 12 lbs right now on my stock recirc valve and seeing no problems.

And you misread as well.

People who purchase BOV's 'because they make cool noises' drive me up the wall. Want an MP3 of mine making a cool noise? I can give it to you for free and save you a fat wad of cash.
