Rim questions

So my friend as a pair of OZ Racing wheels that came on a few of the 99 gsx. There 5 x 114.3 dsm wheels, there either +42 or +46 offset. The offset is what im worried about, will it make them rub or anything?

EDIT: Heres a pic of the wheels http://galeria.forocoches.com/data/5..._1997_-med.jpg
Apparently they came on evos too, his are a jet black finish though.

Dunno anything about 'em, but DSM wheels are usually way too narrow for what you'd want to run. They run thin tiny junk because they're often AWD.

And because big fat tires would hook up and make the transmissions grenade even faster than they already will!

The wheels are 17/225/45's? And right now i got 16/225/55's. So those wheels will burn the trans up faster?

How wide are the wheels themselves? Not the rubber that's on them.

No. DSM's are known for dripping transmissions with surprising regularity. The better the 4 wheels hook up, the shorter the life of the trans.

7" is pretty small. For reference, I'm running 17"x8" up front and 17"x9.5" in the rear. The stock wheels on the car are only 7" wide. So, really. You'll be going to the same size wheel. So, max width tire would maybe be 245.

Now, stock wheels are +37mm offset, IIRC. If you have a +46mm, that's going to pull that wheel into the body of the car by 9mm. 9mm = 0.355 inches. So, I can't say how well it'd work or not work with rubbing, you'd have to test fit that. It shouldn't be too bad. It wouldn't work well with wide tires (I have FAR less clearance than that back there), but that won't be an issue with the aforementioned issues.
I'm also not sure what it'll look like with the wheel tucking in like that.

Here's a great calculator:
