Yes, but you'd need a different bellhousing specific to the S-family of engines from a RWD car like the SA63 Celica or the Altezza RS200.

Toyota never sold a longitudinally mounted S-series engine in North America, so it would make things a bit difficult (though not impossible) to acquire.

..the last supra shape was 93-98..called the mk4..not sure if that stood for mark coz toyota has another car called the mark2..dunno if that car continued though..so not sure if mk stands for "mark"..and those who dont believe me can jump off a very high building or they can take the time to check online properly and the only way to really check is to insure ur car..i got a quote for a 95 supra..and when i checked the last year was 98 as i already knew..so i know it..the insurance companies know it..toyota knows it..and so does any supra owner..btw..i was hopin to get a supra when i went to the u.s but apparently they arent at normal rates as its so popular..according to book value i can afford it but any selling one wants atleast 15-20k for a decent one..book value is 9-10k..so sadly..no supra..i already found a kick ass turbo kit for it..wont happen now though..and i only mentioned this so u ppl would realize that ive done my homework on the car..and im not makin up shit

if you want a 2 liter turbo, swap in a 1GGTE, about the same power as a 2nd gen 3SGTE, and it mats up to the W58 because, well that's the tranny it came with..

I want a 4 cyl not a 6. Mainly for weight reasons. To keep the weight distribution closer to the center. I was thinking more on the lines of a 300 hp or so.

WHAT??? Where the heck does this jumble of words and periods thrown together like it was put through a monsoon, even come close to talking about the 3sgte and 7mge. I mean, did you even read the original post? Or are you some sort of self proclaimed Supra master that knows everything about them?

And the whole Mark or MK part is a way of defining generations. Many car companies do this. The only way to check is to... insure your car? What the crap? Please do us a favor... use PUNCTUATION and FOLLOW THE THREAD TOPIC. You'll make things MUCH MUCH easier.

an iron blocked 3sgte is not light..

it's similar in weight to the 3.0L 1MZ v6, which is why many MR2 owners swap them in.

Indeed, MZ-series = Aluminum. S-series = Iron.

ok, so
where is the info about a 1mz being adapted to a rwd setup
swapping a MZ into a mr2 is a lot different than putting one into a supra or ae86

yeah, it's pointless for a Supra, and so is swapping in a 3SGTE...

POINTLESS CHECK THIS SUPRA OUT

www.topsecretjpn.com/gt300.shtml

( there is a lot more than just this supra with this swap )
I am just wanting to do this with an older gen supra and am trying to figure out the tranny situation .
I also already have the 3sge motor not the 3sgte that the post morphed into.

Also if I can figure out the swap I can transfer the info over to my ae86.
From my under standing a 3sge can handle a lot more hp than any 4ag block can.

since your questions are answered and we are off into conjecture land, I'm closing this thread. Please start a new one if you are looking for engine swap information, but given you mentioned you are trying to swap into an AE86, that group may have more relevant information.
