How do you replace/upgrade the fuel pump? Getting the injectors/fuel pump/afm soon and were trying to figure out how to replace the fuel pump. Looks like you have to drop the tank.
Setup is as follows: RC 550cc Injectors, Lexus V8 AFM (I got the LIPP Replica), and a Walboro 255LPH Fuel Pump. Other engine mods are Apexi intake, turboback 3'', mhg + arp studs. Getting fuel system done then getting new turbo and bov.
EDIT: RANDOM!!! Does anyone know where to get the passenger headlight diffusers? The headlight cover's w/ the little slits in them. Seen a few pop up on SF, are they custom made?
Second EDIT: Will be using a aem uego / apexi safc to tune. What should i be looking for across the board? 11.5-11.7?
Dropping the tank is done by undoing the straps that hold the straps around the tank, drain it first. even a mostly empty tank is a behemoth when you're under it pressing up to bolt it back in. Do yourself a favor, drain it first.
If you look at the bottom of the tank you can shove a 3/8" (I believe it's 3/8") extension into the drain plug and turn and it'll come right out. No special tools needed to drain it.... Well, other than a bucket, and then some way to dispose of the fuel you just unleashed into the bucket...

Whats the circular pannel in the hatch for then? That doesnt access the fuel pump? Under the wood, on the right. Its to the right of the spare... the thing im talkin about.

Any input on my OP Edits?
That's the fuel level sending unit, there is no stock access to the fuel pump without dropping the tank. I've seen some people make their own by dremeling the area out but I don't think I've seen it look good since you have to deal with the lines going to and from the tank.
Tuning for 11.7 while in boost is proper, however you have to set the LO/HI map switch point to 68% throttle because that's where the TCCS switches from closed to open loop. Anything below 68% throttle will eventually get tuned out by the ecu as it uses the narrowband sensor to tune itself for 14.7:1.

found the fuel pump thing on cygnus of course. eh, man.... One other note i would like someone to chip in on, has anyone ever heard of shimming the oil pump to increase oil psi?
Yes, many times. I personally don't see the point. The 7M's oiling system is a high flow, low pressure system. Flow PSI doesn't denote flow volume, always remember that.
I'm ok with the fact that my 7M isn't a big block, the oiling system has worked fine for many others to make good numbers so I see no reason to reinvent the wheel.

Ive just heard alot (Mainly on SF) that a lot of people get rod knock because they dont replace there oil pump/shim it for pressure. Just what i heard...
Good point good point... The thing you said about high pressure doesnt mean its moving more mass got to me. When (and if) should i look into a new oil pump considering my mods/future mods.
Take a straw, and take a paper towel tube. Start blowing out air, then put the straw to your lips, with your other palm feel the pressure on the other side of the straw.
Now, blowing the same strength, do the same with a paper towel tube. The pressure will feel less, even though it's moving the same amount of air.
Pressure isn't a measure of flow.
