I don't know if it applies, I remember when I lost my keys for my MKIII supra, I had to disassemble my passenger door lock cylinder there should be a code, your local Toyota dealer should be able to cut you a new key with code. But I'm not really to sure if it applies for 83 supras.

If you can't get into the car, you can use a locksmith, a tow truck operator with a slim jim or you use a slide hammer and will do significant damage to either the door or the hatch depending on which you choose.

Deduct the $150 from the purchase price and have the locksmith do the job.

I'm pretty sure they're designed so that you have to have the old key, in it and turned in order to have it disengaged.

Can't your dealership cut you a key using your VIN? My dealer advertises that it will cut a key by your VIN for $29.99. I'm not sure if they keep records all the way back to 1983 though...

Good luck!

As far as I know, VIN cut keys only go as far back as OBDII. I could be wrong.

Canada is back to 1993-1994'ish, USA has records back to 1989'ish IIRC.

Jeff

(The key code is on the RH door lock cylinder).

Same deal when I bought my MKIII, the dealer paid for the locksmith.
