Hi, I have an '87 Supra with a 7M-GE motor. It is not working the way it should. When I step on tha gas it takes a while to kick in and get speed. the motor sounds weak. IT starts out rough and eventually gets to the way it's supposed to run. Also, it's always overheating. Can someone tell me what is wrong with it or a reliable source for getting anothe 7m-GE motor? thanks!
Not really. Just the fact that it runs at low capacity. It struggles going up hills and when i step on the gas the motor sounds like its gona power down before it actually starts going.
Thanks for the info but as for the video, well, my car doesnt turn on anymore so i'm pretty much screwed. Luckily i live close to Burbank, I'm looking forward to visiting that shop. THANKS!
back when my 89 was n/a I had a JDM 7MGE swapped in, including long block, labor, new mounts, new radiator, spark plugs and wires, misc items, and a 6 month warranty it came out to $1200...

I have a 87 7MGE n/a (214K miles) that went through the same power symptyms last summer. The car struggled to get up hills. Replaced the plugs and wires with NGK's and its running fine now. Just a chance at a cheap fix.
Also, if you blew a head gasket you should drain your oil and see if it has a gray/brown milky consistency. A result of coolant getting into the oil via blown gasket. Also check the coolant for rainbow colors showing evidence of oil.
