theres a huge supra forum,supraforums.com actually, and i think they would be able to answer your question a little faster than here. there arn't a whole lot of supra owners on TN, incase you havn't noticed, so educate yourself, then come back and help others

hmmm, so you posted on the 6th, and expected to see 20 replies by the 7th. yeah, not gunna happen. there are only a few supra owners here. as the other guy said, check out www.suprafoprums.com, or, visit www.torontosupraclub.com, and look up steve(51cards) he is in the middle of that exact swap right now.

the engine is a 2.5l twin turbo, called the 1jz-gte engine. it is similiar to the 2jz-gte in the mk4. unfortunatley, all us mk3 owners got was the 7m-gte engine.

steve can answer any questions on what you want to know about that engine. he frequents both web forums, and both have a 1jz-gte forum specifically for those type questions.

good luck on your search!

Hey buddie screw the turbo, unless you can keep it cold your wasting your time, I said it before and Ill say it Again, Compression, Compression, Compression, I can build more Horsepower and torque through compression alone than you could with anything you throw at me and whatever turbo you want, and dont get me started on modifying valve train. All and All I dont support turbos, but if you wanna upgrade the one you have I sugest tont buy a new one, rather go to TRDUSA.com and find yourself a rebuild/mod kit for the turbo and go that route, but as for keeping it cold, I didnt say cool, I said cold your all on your own, I dont give away trade secrets.

the problem with upgrading a turbo is that is just the crack in the door...only a little psi boost pressure increase and you got big problems without a metal head gasket,a redo of the injectors and
fuel pump and fuel management system.increased psi causes
increased heat and detonation due to lean mixture.Keeping
temperature down is only part of the problem as exhaust has to
be made bigger to keep up and on and on.go slow with changing.

I lost 3 motors trying to upgrade. Take it from me its not worth it if you dont have a bullit proof motor. robroy32433 is right do it slow do it right. First make sure your motor is good and verything is ready for some upgrads. I would take my motor out take the bottom and get it re done with new pistons rings and rods. Also get the head to a shop and make sure they deck it. And always use an HKS metal HG.
