My supra 87 turbo hardtop

Well I have registered on here for a long time but haven't really ever posted. So I figured why not start?

Here's a few pictures of my supra.
Custom Coil on plug setup. I believe I am the only one running the exact setup I have.

Polished goodies.

Sumped fuel tank with an external Fuel pump.

Aluminum fuel lines 1/2" feed 3/8" return.

Best place for switches.

Intercooler before going in.

3" charge piping.

Exterior shots.

I believe there are others, but that may depend based on which coils you're using. Most aren't running individual CoP's because the idea is to stick with the TCCS in control. With the waste-fire ignition on the 7M there's not a way to do that (nicely) and run a coil per cylinder. But as you know, once you go AEM a whole different world of stuff opens up I know back in the day (I can't remember who now) even went so far as trying to run two igniters so that they could use individual coils. Looks like good stuff, best of luck in your build!

Yes Aaron from driftmotion made the dual ignitor driver board. I also know there are several people running the jzgte ignitors split into wasted spark. (the 2jzgte AEM converts it to a wasted spark setup) I have also seen the mitsubishi ignitors ran on the 7mgte with aem. I am running 6 individual out board ignitors found in Nissan 240sx's.

I also rewired my fuel injectors to run sequential injection vs. the batch fire that stock utilizes.

Thanks,
-Sean

I see you are running is300 2jz-ge coils. Very nice way to go about it indeed.

I'm curious about your FFIM. It's always nice when they clear the alternator, but how is the flow to the first cylinder? It's seems like it's got a harsh bend there to come around. I've looked at 'em for a while now, but never really settled on one I'd buy or what I was doing. I'd love to get rid of the ~6 feet of piping between the IC and the manifold.

The sharp bend has me concerned also, however according to all the books I have read on forced induction. The manifold design is slightly less important in "under boost situations"

I think the primary issue will be the off boost a/f ratio. I might just end up putting two pyrometers in my exhaust manifold on cylinders 1 and 2 to see what happens.

Supra sport has a manifold they are working on that looks very promising. The one I have on my car I fabricated up myself.

Well, yes. The books are right in that regard because when an N/A vehicle has to suck and develop back pressure to pull the air in, we're creating an artificial positive pressure inside of the manifold which will in turn push airflow into any open route. The bend isn't as crucial under these situations but for intake runner velocities off boost, I agree with your conclusion. That difference in teperature between the cylinders would be very tell tale.

Did some more work.

Installed a new shimmed oil pump. Shimmed 10mm. And did the -8 an conversion from hard pipe.

I am getting damn close to running.
