1990 Supra problem

Hey guys im new to this forum i would post pics of my car right now but i have a bit of a problem, so i think it's my MAF becuase i pulled a code 24 which is the IAT sensor and that's built into the maf but the original maf sensor that i had needed to be replaced so i got a new one and everything was good, but about 3 weeks ago or soo i was driving back home and it would not wanna go at all it would just start to lose speed right when i hit about 3k rpms so after trying to find out whats wrong today i tested my 02 and maf the 02 is good and i get the same readings on both maf sensors the old and newish one so i put my old one in and the hesitation problem went away but then it would start to backfire and spit, so i checked my codes again and still have 24 with the old one and new one, then i cleared them and it took ahwile to get the code back again and when this problem started i did have a code 34 turbo pressure signal and i also read that could be caused by the afm too so if anyone has any info that would be great.
Thanks
Jarod

Welcome to the boards Jerod. Just a hint... please use .'s. Reading that was very difficult. Just my .02.

As far as the codes go... i'm sure Jeeves or Bgrieger have more info on that department.

This code signifies boost cut, basically an overboost code. You're running too much boost, or you have a boost leak.

Essentially, it sounds like you've got a dead AFM and you're running too much boost, or you've got a big boost leak (but that doesn't explain the AFM code.)

oohhh i didint know code 34 could be too much boost that explains why i was just all of a sudden running around 8 psi on a ct-26 with 140k miles ok, so im thinking it's the afm meter again but it's kinda weird how im getting 24 on both afm's the bad original one and my newer one even after i cleared the code and they both somewhat have the same symptom, guess i have two afm with the same problem.

The 3k rev limit is an old AFM failure safety. If you have a multimeter check the sensor to see if it's actually bad.

so i checked them both and i get the same reading both are at same temp and everything, but i did go back and check my hoses and stuff and think i might have found the problem, the hose from the turbo inlet to the piping might of had a leak there and i tryed to somewhat seal it up and it turned out to be worse it started right up and about 2 seconds later i tryed to give it gas and it wanted to die so i might of had a small leak causing the afm to go off, hopfully it is this little hose, been having this problem for about 3 weeks now.

I've never seen a leak throw a temp code before. That sensor has to be out of a certain range, be shorted open or closed in order to throw that code. However, if that fixes it Congrats.
