Exclamation 2JZGE info/powerup/help me

so yeah. i just got my white 94 N/A supra.

i of course wanted the 2JZ-GTE engine. 6 speed what not. i didnt know that the GE was alot different from the GTE. i thought all i needed was a turbo to make it the same. MAN! i used to drive a SL500 (v8) so going down to the supra is like alot slower.

so i was wondering what is best to power up my car. i already have rims, its lowered, intake, the stock twin turbo exhaust. just basics. i need more power. is the GE really slow? or just medium?

i am only 17 turning 18 in oct. the supra has been my dream car thats why when i bought it i didnt care about it being TURBO or what not. but now i do. kinda slow.

so the question is: how do i power up. i am not rich or anything. so like dont tell me ENGINE SWAP or what not. even though my dad said i will get the 2JZ-GTE in summer. but for now? what can i do to make the supra faster? i was thinkin about getting a new muffler just for sound reason.

AIM SN: leonard airic e

thanks

there are a couple places around that love to turbo the 2jz-ge powerplant, but be prepared to spend 5-10k. www.powerhouseracing.com www.titanmotorsports.com vinnyten.com just to name a few.

for cheap mods, you will get cheap horswepower.

change to a better air filter. open up the exhaust, add a downpipe. oh, wait, those are turbo engine mods. na's suck for powering up. thats whay everyone gets turbos or nos. sorry.

maybe your new baby needs a tuneup to make the HP it should.
check out www.mkiv.com and see what they list for n'a power mods. most likely they will just talk about big single turbos as well.

Agreed! even if you turbo the N/A its not the same. Just wait till your dad gets you the 2JZ-GTE. Also when you do get it in do a full exhaust. should get you an easy 20 HP since the stock system is pretty restrictive with the TT. It is INCREDIBLE the amount of power you can extract from the 2JZGTE. people have gone ~1000 HP on the stock block, however usually to get into really high numbers (over 500 hp) guys will ditch the TT setup, get a nice big single and turn up the boost.

thanks guys for the feedback. so i guess for now.. i am going to just go exterior.. my supra is white. i am going to go carbon fiber lips.. do they make side skirts carbon fiber? also get a hood. i saw that targa top.. i think its nice.. but maybe over doing it.. and plus i think that top is rare? i dont know if i should go carbon fiber spoiler.. because the supra is known for its "wing" hence the name. the wing-ed beast from the east. lol. THANKS FOR the comments though. i guess ill just have to stick with the HP i got. its not like im a racer or anything. but its always fun to have some horseys right men?

comment on the carbon fiber: lip. do they have rear ones? muffler. spoiler. hood. n targa. let me know if that looks stupid on a white car. and for any info on the CF targa top. just yeah.

AIM: leonard airic e. i would love to talk about driving stick better. n stuff. thanks yall. peace peace God bless

FYI. MKIV turbos have "Turbo" badging on the rear. ( i believe passenger side), while N/A's do not. This is another way to tell them apart

Most people tell the turbos versus non turbos apart by the rims. the non turbo supras came with 16" rims, while the turbos got 17's. The other way is the appearance of the wing on turbo models.

on most years, there is a sticker on the rear hatch saying "SUPRA". some years, the turbo models actually said "supra turbo", but i never figured out which years.

i do not remember any badging on the side of the supra saying turbo or otherwise. there was a 15th anniversary rectangular tag applied to one year, but it again didn't mention whether it was turboed or not.

there isn't even a stock turbo boost pressure guage on the turbo supras to tell them apart that way.
