Factory Alarm Issue...?

Hey alls...

I got the $500 MK3 running tonight... after driving around for a while... i parked it and locked it up... shortly there after... i needed to put something in it and found out that the driverside door key swith for the factory alarm is aparently having problems... because it locked the car down... alarm went off... car wouldnt start after i got the alarm to stop honking at me....

i got it to reset by locking and unlocking the pass. side door... so i assume its the switch in the drivers door...

i'd like to keep the alarm... so how do I go about fixing the problem? I havnt searched much because of lack of time at the moment... so i'm sorry if this is common... but if someone could point me to a "how to" or pics of where the switch is/what it is... etc.. etc... would help me fix the issue.

If you'd searched I've described the piece that attaches to the back of the locking mechanism that can be resnapped into place by taking apart the door panel. Sidenote: It's usually bad juju to make threads without searching.
