Depends on the hole, but usually detonation.

You mean head. Not head. Singular.

Yup like mentioned, detonation. That sucks. Time for an engine rebuild.

Gen1

is 2700 a good price to pay for a rebuild on a car of this nature?? i mean they want 3000 to 4000 in tyler tx just to build the engine but i would have to take the block apart myself. the other place was doing that all as one price.

You can buy 7MGE "JDM" engine for around $1,000 + sh(about $200). You could also buy complete rebuild kit for around $400-500 which you could put it together w/o remove the engine, providing cylinder walls are OK.

I would NEVER, EVER pay $1,200 for a 7M-GE engine. You could probably find whole parts cars for that much.

Most the parts cars I find are actually running, oddly enough.
