Need Advice for high mount brake light does not work for 1990 non-turbo supra

Aloha,
my dashboard brake warning light stays on.
the high mount stop light does not work .
1-removed cover and checked bulb is ok
my supra does not have a spoiler and tailgate door has never been adjusted at all.
all other stop lights work.
what else could be the problem?

Thank-you again and hope to hear your solution soon,
hawaiianeye02

I had the same problem. Have you checked all of your fuses? Also, check your brake switch behind the pedal. I did all of that and it still didnt work, so I rewired them myself. Good luck

aloha jedimunky!
thank-you for your reply.
i only checked the STOP fuse 20A located on the driver's side kick panel.
is there another separate fuse for this high mount brake light?
also could you please give a brief answer on how and where to rewire? really appreciate your time thanks again, hawaiianeye02

I just checked the fuse in the kick panel and they were all good, so i took off the panel that covers the break switch off and follow the wire up. Its easiest if you take off the fog light panel on the left of the steering wheel (86 Supra) and clip the wire, splice in a new one and run it all the way back and connect it directly.hide it under the side panel and the piece that keeps the carpet down. sorry its not more technical but i did it months ago and it was kind of a cut and go job... brake lights work though. Good luck! I'll help more if I can.

make sure the light is getting power, if not, trace the wires back and find your culprit..
