Engine mounts

How high are the engine mounts supposed to be in the chassis? My a/m downpipe from jsc is hitting in two places, and they said it may be because when I put the engine back in that I did not keep the engine up high enough on the mounts. I looked through the tsrm and couldn't find anything. I assumed they should be as low as possible without resting in the cassis mounts, but perhaps I was wrong.

There were 2 engine mount designs. The engines though are located in the same spot. If you were off more than 1/2 inch, you'd start hitting other parts. I'm not sure who JSC is, but I'm not so sure they are right on this.

I'm sorry I was not too informative with the pipe, its a Titan motorsports 3" stainless pipe, its rather nice but it is hitting the transmission mount and the flex section is sitting on the frond A arm chassis assembly. JSC speed is the dealer I bought it from. They seem to act like they have never had this problem before with this part, even though there have been reports of it online. I have the square style mounts that are able to slide up and down on the chassis where the mounts actually rest. And I can tighten the nut on the mount at any position within them. I was just wondering if they should be all the way down, in the middle or up high.

While they can slide, you have to remember the weight you're putting on them and the torque that will be transferred through that mount. They will tend to settle regardless.

That's what I figured as well. I really didn't understand what he was trying to tell me. Especially when he mentioned that my mounts may be worn out. I know that is not the case at all. Well, then I am going to have them send me a new one and see if it does the same thing. Thanks guys.
