89 factory alarm problem

My factory alarm on my 89 toyota supra 7MGE only unlocks from the exterior door locks. No keyless…to old. To day my door unlocked, but the alarm wouldn’t disarm. I tried everything I could think of, but no go. Can anyone tell me how to go about disconnecting it, or what the problem might be?

If you search for my name and alarm I've made posts about it before. The piece on the back of the lock has probably fallen off.

Good stuff, otherwise a little trick I learned was to lock the car from the outside then pull up on the door handle and unlock with the key. It always deactivates the alarm. Of course, yours sounded like it malfunctioned which seems to happen every now and then in the mkiii

If the door is opened when the sensor has fallen off the back of the lock mechanism it will alarm. It can't read that the lock mechanism was turned first, so it assumes it was an illegal entry.

JBoogey, glad to hear you were able to fix your issue and bypass the alarm.

Plenty of these false alarms occur due to aging switch contacts as well. If the problem is intermittent I've found it is more likely a failing switch. In either event, unlocking the vehicle via the trunk or passenger side door will also disarm the alarm... unless they're bad too.

Hey Jeeves, how's things? Been meaning to shoot you an email... Mind refreshing my memory as to what program you're using for reviewing MAFT Pro logs?

I've also found that bulldozering the vehicle until the power source becomes disconnected is also a method of disarming.

It's going. Just got me a new toy

I use megalogviewer, lemme dig up the easy steps to clean a log for ya.

To export a TunerPro log to CSV format to use in MegaLogViewer:

1) While in TunerPro click "Tools", "ALDL/Data Logging" then "Setup..." (Hitting F4 should get you to the same screen)
2) Select which session you want to export from the adl file.
3) Click the "Export Selected Session to CSV" button then enter a name and select a place to save the file.
4) Open Notepad (In XP, Click Start -> Run, type: notepad then click ok) and open the file you just exported.
5) Delete the entire First and Third lines.
6) Before the comma, add the word "Time". Your file should now look something like this (1 line of text, the rest all numbers(The exact words may be different)):

7) Save the file and close notepad.
8) Start MLV and open the CSV file you just modified.
9) It'll bring up the "Please Register" window, but you can hit "Register Later."
10) If you did everything correctly, you should be able to click the boxes below the words "Graph 1", "Graph 2" and so on and choose what value you'd like to see graphed there.

MLV is not designed to work with TunerPro or Supras, it just happens to be able to open CSV files after you modify them to its liking.

MLV can be found here: http://www.ideasandsolutions.biz/msgraph/
