Canada Import buy

Going to purchase Supra, must be 15years old to import into Canada.

Trying to purchase though company based in BC *nearest port for canada*
though a company COMMERCIAL WEB LINKS NOT PERMITTED AT TN
They purchase and claim the car with my money and then have it dropped off at my home, which will cover everything without me having to register, pick up the car, without myself flying to the coast which will cost another 1500 so it's best for me we all would agree.

Wondering if I should or shouldn't purchase a model that is, Mark IV (1993-2002) It must be Automatic, and because of my insurance; non turbo. This also includes RHD Japan models.

1993 - 1993.5 MK IV non-turbo (2JZ-GE) DOHC engine.

1998 - Turbos not available in states that require California emissions.

These are the only ones i can find that follows all the guidelines, but i don't know the model so if someone could use your supraology to de-code my post and if you would please recommend or include a review on that production model!

There are several issues with imports. First, there are a lot of fly by nighters that may or may not rip you off on the car or the price. Several have tried getting the deposit from you, quote a price, and then more or less extort you to get an extra few grand. Look at importers with a good history and references.

I noticed that you complained in camry section parts posts about the price of mail ordering parts, and that you will be doing. Many discover that Toyota Canada does not support imported cars. No north american vin, no parts. Some people who know the parts guys well can get some help, and some of the universal parts from the US dealers can be had, but there are many common parts that are RHD country only, and you get to pay for importing them when you need them. Companies such as those you are looking to buy from get them too, at a premium price.

They are cheaper to purchase, but I find in the long run, they will cost more to maintain, more to run, and ultimately not get you much when it comes time to sell it.

Thought so

Well thanks, seems I needed that input.
Didn't think of the maintence fee's on that import, when it comes to the parts I see even if it's well maintained and lasts me forever, if anything happens, good chance I would be bankrupt with the cost of getting the parts shipped here and installed, by whome? haha

It's not worth it in my neck of the woods, unless I find someone else with connections only thing I got, are electrical and someone in a bodyshop.

I had some other idea's but deadends, everything leads to bad financial decisons, where one flaw costs more then a hobby should take.

Don't get discouraged. Cars are expensive and it is all about how you want to get into them. You can pay a little less up front for a JDM car, but there's some pain to go with it when it comes to fixing what might break. If you can live with mail ordering from an importer and the couple of days or so it might take extra to get parts, and you can do the work or have a good local mechanic that does not mind working on it then it might not be so bad. If you are looking for your local dealer or a random shop to take care of it and you need to drive it every day, an imported chassis might not be for you.
