Canada What's up guys?

Hello to all,
I've come in search of some information that was not readily available to me via the search option. I've searched countless threads to find this information and i have covered what would be the basics but not exactly what i am looking for.

Here's the deal: a family member has decide to depart from the country and will be pretty much giving me his JDM Supra... only problem is it is a 5speed non turbo version, I have been bitten by the turbo bug as i have owned a few turbo cars. my question is if i were to pull the 2jzge and bolt in the 2jzgte are there any other modifications required.. the wiring will be for the jdm version and so will the engine, so the wiring i don't think will be that hard as i am not opposed to it being stock for awhile...

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
PM if possible even if it is to flame me for such a noob question...

Not a noob question, but certainly one of the most challenging swaps given the lack of parts on this side of the ocean. Have you considered just adding a turbo to the existing car?

I've never put much thought to turbo-ing the current engine, I've heard it could be a potent sucker with proper tuning.. i was actually trying to go the route of less stress.. This might be the last swap i even bother doing. I just couldn't pass up such a sweet ride.

What extra parts would be required?

to turbo it, you're looking at a turbo kit for the 2JZ-GE engine, injectors, exhaust and the electronics for fuel control of your choice just as a set of the "big" things. For a GTE swap you are looking to engine and all associated parts, harness, ECU, and then you need to look at the compatability of various existing systems in the car (gauges may or may no longer work with GTE electronics etc).

I'm however no swap expert. I've read some people's adventures, but have for the most part avoided them since the days of carburetors.
