7m spark plug valley

this is kind of out of the norm, but do you guys know of a way to waterproof the spark plug valley on the 7m's?

i have this motor in my truck and i took it out and hit a big water puddle not thinking.. and sure enough i got a lil swimming pool action in that valley and a miss fire and the plug wires were arcing. so i had fun drying that up and getting it back running again

I was going to ask how the hell you managed that and still have a car at all, but then I remembered you have it in a truck.

If you have the stock centre gasket it should be well sealed. The plug wires have rubber grommets that should be a water resistant seal. If your gasket is missing that would be the solution!

It should seal with a bit of a pop as they have a groove in the outer edge of the grommet on the plug wires where they pass through the gasket, though that is for the factory ones. I remember most people report the NGK and others don't seat nearly as well or pop out all the time. I've only ever had Toyota ones so I may not be the best to compare with...

ah ok that would explain it, because mine are ngk's... well i guess i would have to buy some oem ones to take it through puddles
ill just have to be easy until then but its not like it rains much in Arizona, thats why i like to play in the water the few times we get it
