celicasupra

i bought my dream car!!!!!! now thers a car you dont see every day, hi im normally in the corolla forums but my recent car purchase brought me here. i got a 84 celicasupra, white, 1jz motor swap, and you wouldnt beleive how much i payd for it if i told you, but thers a catch, no tranny. so, anny other cellicasupra owners out ther? annyone with a 1jz have anny suggestions for a tranny and or cheap mods? how do you like this engine? hopefully my journy into supra teritory will be a fun one, thanx all!

With a 1j, you need an R154 with the 1JZ bell housing, or the W58 bell housing from a 2JZ. I can't say off the top of my head if the original or 2JZ w58 itself is the better route, or if there are differences. You may need the original MKII trans depending.

You may also need the driveshaft to match the transmission.

I'll ask someone this afternoon as he's a big MKII guy and coming over to help install my motor, so a captive audience!
