Because almost nobody makes them. Fact is, headers are out there (Pacesetter) and using the factory GTE exhaust will give you the ideal 2.25-2.5 inch system. A K&N filter can be put on/in. You can get performance clutches for the W58, and you could get a lightened flywheel like an Unorthodox Racing one for the 7M and an ATI crank pulley to "free" up some power, but that's about it. Very few have even made the 230 hp you get from a stock GTE without investing more money than the turbo swap costs in the first place. All motor 7m's don't exist.

Thanks for that info. On the other note i need a new clutch and i want a stage 2 clutch but not sure if i should or not. Also my carrier bearing is out and i need to get a new one but since im down there should i just get a new two piece drive shaft or a one piece aluminum drive shaft so i dont have to have the trouble of the shaft carrier or whatever it is that holds them in place to go out again. i want to do as much as possible to get this car up and running with no problems this time around. and if i can get enough for it i'm going to buy a 1JZ MKIII

My thoughts on a performance clutches for the NA are that you really won't make thing better unless you are driving it hard. Most "upgrades" are heavier pressure plates and perhaps material. If you increase the pressure plate pressure, the car gets tougher to move in stop and go, and materials make the clutch more an on/off switch, and with no additional power holding is not the issue.

On the bearing, a new bearing will last 20 years again. A one piece shaft may introduce vibration at the resonance frequencies (certain RPM's you will feel a vibration). The one piece will, like a lightweight flywheel free up a pony or 2, but not too much.

THey are well over $200 last I looked. I suspect mine is shot too, but it's been off the road so long I cant' remember. I'll find out soon enough, and it's not too tough to replace.

I'm actually torn myself on which to get if I do have to replace. I like the one piece idea as I have no intention of selling the car in this lifetime (I've had it 14 years so far), but the bigger concern is that 20 year old rear shafts can rotate out of alignment and throw the balance off when the rubber cracks and shrinks. It is setup as 2 tubes, one inside the other, with the rubber acting to take up vibration. However, the rubber is also what keeps it together and over time, the 2 ends do start to become misaligned. THis can't happen in a one piece.

Best of both worlds is a lightened 2 piece. A place by the name of Jawsgear in the US used to make them, but I haven't checked in quite a while. I might have mine rebuilt too depending on what I see when the time comes.
