Post mk3 and mk4 suspension compatibility

hi, I have a 86.5 toyota supra that i'm going to do a big project with. and one of my idea would be to swap the entire suspension and subframe from a mk4 supra, i think its possible in the front front what I've read but i'm not sure for the back.

the point of this is that the suspension on a mk4 is partly made of aluminium i think, so it should be lighter, also it would come with mk4 larger brakes and a torsen LSD.

does anyone knows if it's possible? bolt on of custom, or if it's totally impossible!

thanks !

with money and skills, anything is possible. That said, the front and rear subframes are not going to fit. Nothing lines up, so you would have to at least build custom mounts, and that is if they fit in the same general location anyhow, Given I've never seen anyone ever attempt it, I'm thinking that it is not an option (I've been in the Supra game 15 years now).

If I was you, I'd focus on purchasing MKIII parts to begin with. There are a couple of suspension arm options from the US already that use heim joints that will save a little weight, and the price of a brake kit made for the MKIII would be cheaper than the any custom subframe swap would ever be.

mm ok! i'm still curious about how different they are. maybe i'll try to ask someone who has a mk4 if we can compare our suspension to find what would have to be modified. i'm not stressed about cost, i have almost everything i need to make custom brackets or things like this. i'll just try to figure out the amount of work it would require to see if it would worth it.

thank you for the advice!
