not my car.

my friend just put a supra together over the weekend. car is getting fuel, and cranks just fine, but does not show any spark.

my ideas are:
using a test light, check for signal to coil, and check for output from coil.
if coil is sparking, check distributor timing.

any other ideas?

problem solved.

there was a continuity issue with one of the engine grounds, and it was causing a short-circuit. the check engine light was on all the time, even with no key in the ignition. we rerouted some wiring and now the car runs. but, it has a blown head gasket. more work for this weekend...
