Welcome.

One thing to be concerned with is corrosion. The hatch is one of the worst on the celica supras, but fender wells are also common areas of concern. Any visible rust suggests much more hiding under the surface. The cars aren't all that hard to work on if you have general automotive skills. Parts are getting harder to get from Toyota, but there is a pretty good following that have spares for sale.

Performance parts are a different matter. They exist, but are limited in availability. There are only a couple of shops offering parts, but they are pretty good. The engines are fairly cheap should you need one used.

All in all, they are 25-30 years old now. Any car of that age has standard mechanical issues. Expect all the normal things (power steering pumps, leaks, alternators etc.) that you would expect from any old car. If you need a daily driver and expect to push this car hard, expect to spend a lot on repairs. No two ways about it, they are aging, but still a great car if you put the effort into them!
