The swap has been done before. I've seen them and race one before and dam are they fast. It's better to swap the 2JZ-GTE because the parts are eaiser to get due to the engine being here in the states.

Don't get discouraged, I've done 5mge, in a 80 toy 2wd, and also put in a 2jz in the same one as my daily driver. The 5mge I put in my sons 91 toy 4x4 after we rebuilt it. I used a mitchel manual for most of my wiring diagrams. the 91 toy was 22re, i just integrated it into his system using the 5mge ecu and wiring. The 80 toy was of course originally a 20r carburetor system. Just take your time when doing it and stop for plenty of beer breaks,and smokes if you do that.

if you can source a 2j , 2jz all the way (and not because I'm a "2jz no $hit fan boy") It simply is the better engine then the 1jzgte and more reliable
