Question 7m-ge to a 7m-gte swap Question!

I am doing a 7m-ge to a 7m-gte swap.
Now can my stock traansmission handle the power of the 7M-GTE?
Do I need a new tranny?
Also, will I need a new ECU?

stock swap: yes, your transmission will do. If an automagic, you should be able to reuse everything. Stick may require different clutch or a hybrid...been a while since I've looked at it.
ECU will be the GTE one. You also need to be cautious what year you are swapping. 89+ engines don't bolt into 88- chassis without changing crossmembers, or you can take newer engine and use the older mounts.

You will need the GTE harness to match your engine and computer. Toyota has limited supplies of the 89+, but if you have a pre-89 ECU and engine, you will be looking for a used one as they are discontinued. If you are electrically savvy, you could try making one, but you will spend a bit of time trying to find all the
