First off, if you have a mostly stock supra, at any boost above 12psi, you should be experincing FCO, or Fuel-Cut-Off. this is the ECU telling you it is reading an abnormally high boost pressure, and it shuts down momentarily. the car will feel like it hit a brick wall, and you will see the yellow engine light on the dash momentarily. The ecu will also store a code 34 inside, which stands for "turbo overpressure condition"
You can, and maybe did get around this by installing a HKS FCD, or Fuel-Cut-Defenser, or a lexus afm from a v-8, but this does not add fuel, it only suppresses the ECU actions to shut down the engine. many have detonated their motors shortly after running in this condition at above 12psi.
It is unwise to run anything above 10psi with no other mods, and if you have exhaust, and intake mods, 12psi is still the line that should not be crossed.
Now onto your problem. to beat a 380rwhp mustang, and considering your supra weighs more than a mustang, you will need as much or more than 380rwhp. a stock turboed supra puts out about 200-210rwhp in stock form, so you have a lot of work to do.
Friends of mine that have squeezed everything you can out of the stock turbo or even a modified stock turbo still come up to only 350rwhp at best.
Mods that i typical see at this HP level include:
intake filter, exhaust, downpipe, electornic boost controller, 550cc injectors, mkiv fuel pump, intercooler, hard pipes, lexus afm or vpc, and a fcon or s-afc.

i think you guy's are talking about the older supras, i own a 1994 supra twin turbo and it comes with 325 bhp stock i'm running 15 lbs of boost on it with a fuel controler so it's nice and rich. so can you guy's help me out how to beet this stang. thanks guy's
whooops, my bad.
you are dead on correct. i basically live in a 3rd generation world, and read so many 3rd gen supra questions like this, i just started typing from memory. Youv'e got the right supra to take on that bad boy. you just need a few more mods. As to what mods, i do not know.

That is IMPOSSIBLE you can run over 14 lbs of boost without FCD. Get a downpipe, exhaust, FCD, boost controller and your car will run mid 12s with street tires all day long.
All you need is intake, exhaust,FCD,downpipe and 15psi of boost and you should be able to take him. With this set-up you should have over 400 flywheel horsepower.

most stock Supras can beat any mustang on the highway... stangs are kiddie cars, most yank cars are for the 1/4 mile except for the corvette
learn to drive your supra!!!!!
