thinking of buying a 90 supra

im thinking of buying a 1990 supra turbo but before i go spending the money i want to make sure that i am right about what i kno so far.

It has the 1jz-gte or the 7mgte motor right.

I kno that the 2jz-gte was found in the later models of the supra. but what is the major diffrence between the two motors. is it just the blocks that r diffrent or is it more.

would i benifet from turning a 1jz-gte into a 2jz-gte or would it be easyer just to swap motors.
