yeah i gave it to him because i had no more room in my lot. He drives it but its mostly stored. He wants to get it totally restored and since everything in it is original i wont let him do any engine swaps (the motor is strong and holds great compression). it has 68k miles in it. and it even has the original radio system and it works.
half of me still wants to be the last one in the city (toronto) but the greater half of me wants to see another that is still on the road in the city (toronto)
i have a pic that i just got developed to CD but i dont know how to upload it here.
i guess we wont be seeing you or him (or the car) at the next meet in canada, but send my fairest wishes to him and his prize collectible.
mine has what i believe to be the original stereo too!!
does his have the "TOYOTA" mark on the tape player?
does it have the radio up top and the tape player down below near the stick shift, close to the gas pedal?
i have been told that mine is likely not original but it does say toyota on it, so maybe the guy who told me was just referring to the 81 that he saw....
chris
ps. i was told to put an MP3 player in the car, i died laughing.....
well ill have to take another closer look into the stereo but maybe i can take some pictures and post it up in here. These old supras to tell u the truth look fugly to me but it was original and a classic and faster than my 82 celica.
My Friends got one a 1979 MK1!!! mint condtion runs great we just rebuilt the engine there and it runs really great we'll be attending the supra meet on June 7 if anyones coming by we got a white mk1 hope to see someother mk1's there too
Last month at richmond hill toyota we had one white mk1, but it was dark by the time i got there. i wanted to get a pic of a mk1,2,3,4 all beside each other. That oportunity doesn't happen all that often any more.
I'll be looking to snap that pic this friday night for sure!!!! I'll be in my white 91. Phil or Brad should be there with their white mk4's, and yourself with a mk1. I hope dean got his rear suspension fixed, and he can represent the white mk2's. If he doesn't show, maybe the german spec mk2 owned by rob will show.

You could always borrow it back and drive it to Toronto this August for our 7th annual Canadian Supra Appreciation Day, which is now a whole weekend long, and i will take lots of pics for you.

We have Jeff M.( http://www.suprasport.com ) flying in from texas, and Geoff M./Wife/Katie( http://www.speedtoys.com ) flying and/or driving in from California. Also many other supra owners from the mid-west and northeast states, and our Toronto crew.
Our mini meets, of which one is being held tonight(www.torontosupraclub.com/event.html), are averaging 40 supras or more, with all 4 generations being well represented. Some members of the toronto mr2, camry and corrola clubs also get out and run with the supras monthly now.
Damn, this ,makes me wonder when the Toronto Toyota Matrix Club will start having meets as well?
